Death's End, the English version of Chinese science fiction Si Shen Yong Sheng, was published in foreign countries in 2016. The novel made it onto the New York Times Best-sellers List in its debut week, and was the winner of Locus Award and the nominee of Hugo Award in 2017. Apparently, such achievements prove that Ken Liu's translation of Si Shen Yong Sheng is successful. But some differences can be found in the content about gender between the Chinese version and the English version after close reading. In the light of the patronage, and with the help of text analysis and the answer from Ken Liu, the paper aims to analyze the English translation of gender in Si Shen Yong Sheng and research how the translator Ken Liu communicates and cooperates with the editor Liz, the representative of the publisher, and the author Liu Cixin in order to achieve the translation ecobalance in the translation community.

In the late Ming Dynasty, the prosperity of Huizhou painting was closely related to arts patronage. Ding Yunpeng was a representative painter in Huizhou in the late Ming Dynasty. Through a study on his painting career, we can find that although the way of patronage reception was still obscure, arts patronage existed widely and there were various ways to get patronage. Based on their own city and facing the entire Jiangnan region, Huizhou painters successfully integrated into the cultural circle of distinguished personages in Jiangnan with the help of Huizhou elite groups in other areas. Patronage from the local city and Jiangnan had very important influence on Huizhou painting. Therefore, the paintings of Ding Yunpeng that we see today not only reflect the influence of Huizhou characteristic engraving (painting) industry and ink production industry, but also reflect the trend of thought and fashion of the times in the late Ming Dynasty, and actively respond to the aesthetic needs of elites of all classes in Jiangnan cultural circle.

The paper constructed coupling evaluation index system of rural vitalization and rural tourism. Based on the data from 2013 to 2020, the spatio-temporal coupling development characteristics of rural vitalization and rural tourism in Anhui Province were analyzed by means of the coupling coordination model. The results show that the comprehensive development level of rural revitalization and rural tourism is on the rise, and shows regional imbalance. Since 2016, rural revitalization has played a leading role in rural tourism. In terms of time, the coupling degree of the two systems has gone through three stages of near maladjustment, good coordination and high-quality coordination. At present, the coupling correlation is strong, and the coupling coordination degree has gone through five stages of moderate incongruity, approximate coordination, primary coordination, intermediate coordination and good coordination. The coordination degree needs to be further improved. In terms of space, affected by such factors as location conditions, socio-economic level and cultural heritage, the coupling degree and coupling coordination degree of the 16 cities in Anhui Province show a spatial distribution pattern in which the central and southern regions are higher than the northern region, with obvious spatial differentiation. In the future, it is necessary to comprehensively consider the factors including resources, industry and culture of each city to promote the coordinated development of the two systems.

Under the influence of the idea of "heaven and man" in the pre-Qin and Han Dynasties, the aesthetic purpose, function and characteristics of refined music and popular music were "close but different". From the perspective of the differentiation process, the aesthetic pursuit of the "harmony of heaven and man" of refined music was different from that of the "happiness of heaven and man" of popular music, and the aesthetic subjects' choices of "divinity" or "humanity" were different, so the "orders of differing music" were completed in the differentiated scenes of "temples" and "the folks". From the perspective of confluence causes, refined and popular music were based on the identity of the feelings of heaven and man, and promoted the teaching of heaven and man with the help of aesthetic commonality, so as to realize the value unity of the beauty of heaven and man. Differentiation originated from the worship of "gods", while confluence witnessed the rise of "man".

In order to solve the problem of high omission ratio of small target objects in remote sensing image object detection, this paper puts forward a small target detection method EfficientNet-YOLOv3 for remote sensing images requiring higher detection accuracy. The method, based on YOLOv3, uses EfficientNet-B0 network to replace the backbone network of the original YOLOv3 algorithm, which can extract image features more effectively, increase the size and number of prediction branches and optimized prior boxes, and improve the detection effect of remote sensing small targets. At the same time, DIoU is selected as the loss function to improve the efficiency of target detection box regression and reduce the omission ratio. Experimental results on DOTA remote sensing image dataset show that the mean average precision mAP of the proposed algorithm is 91.01%, which is 11.82% higher than that of the original YOLOv3. Therefore, it has higher detection accuracy

Abstract202)      PDF(pc) (1104KB)(921)       Save
The large number of county-level examination halls in the late Qing Dynasty marked the beginning of the imperial examination system to sink into the local grassroots society. Taking Taihe County in northwest Anhui Province as an example, this article found that the "magnificent" examination hall in Taihe County was built in the 22nd year of Daoguang (1842). In order to emphasize the selection of talents, the county governor Lei Shixia ordered the construction of the examination hall, which was supported by the local Li family. The hall was located in the southeast of the country, adjacent to the main roads and close to the local Confucian temple, leading to the gathering of imperial examination landscapes. Because of its large-scale and well-preserved buildings, the Taihe County examination hall was transformed into a new-style school in 1903 to develop local new-style school education. In short, the building of the examination hall embodied the spirit of the impartial imperial examination, which was conducive to the fair selection of talents at the local level and had positive significance.

Journal of Chaohu University    2022, 24 (6): 81-88.   DOI: 10.12152/j.issn.1672-2868.2022.06.009
Abstract906)      PDF(pc) (1007KB)(920)       Save
In recent years, the research on the concept of cultural memory and its carrier has become a hot topic in academia. The concept of "cultural memory" was first proposed by the German cultural scholar Jan Assmann. He drew the memory discourse into the theoretical framework of cultural studies, and expressed the cultural and identity function of memory from the external dimension of human memory. On this basis, he systematically explained the construction theory of cultural memory. In order to clarify the concept of cultural memory by Jan Assmann, this paper intends to examine the theoretical connotation of cultural memory from the spatial and temporal dimensions. It not only shows the profound space-time contained in cultural memory, witnesses the "inexhaustible visual explosive power in space" and "unweakened continuous ability in time" of cultural memory, and explains the healing power of cultural memory in time and space shuttle. At the same time, with the spatial return and time reconstruction of cultural memory as the breakthrough point, the dynamic process of the spatial and temporal construction of cultural memory is sketched out, and the meaning code of memory is broken, so as to explore the essence and significance of the theory of cultural memory theory.

The visual images of Huizhou in Ming and Qing dynasties can be divided into "elegant" images and "folk public" images, Taking the painters of Huizhou in the Ming and Qing Dynasties as an example, they inherited the cultural context of Xin'an, innovated the visual schema of "reduced brush" in Huizhou, absorbed the linear modeling and seal cutting meaning of Xin'an painting school, and the pictures showed a flat and abstract style. Artists in Anhui, based on Huangshan, Huizhou architecture and Xin'an natural scenery as the blueprint, have some innovation in succession and build their own rational landcape. Anhui oil painting landscape painters recall the tranquility of the past, trying to find the harmonious coexistence between man and nature in the past, trying to create a spiritual world in which man and nature are integrated into one, giving spiritual enlightenment to people and arousing people's thinking on the relationship between man and nature.

The drama presentation of Dongfang Shuo's story has the overall characteristics of both seriousness and melodrama, which reveals Wu Xiude's own literati mentality of respecting ancient history, questioning fame and advocating chivalry. When Wu Xiude is placed in the overall context of the opera artists in southern Anhui in the late Ming Dynasty, it can be found that there are many similarities in their creation styles, which is closely related to the social background of the late Ming Dynasty and the cultural environment in southern Anhui.

The phenomenon of college students' star worship presents a complex picture of multiple integration. The research shows that star worship presents the characteristics of high involvement, symbol consumption and rationality, and leads to the problems including deviation of value orientation in the media field, the "materialization" of stars bringing false demand and false experience, and "pan-idolization. This phenomenon is the result of the combined effects of the "migration" and "compensation" needs of fan groups, the connected supply of culture and consumption, and the integration of capital and media. On the one hand, star worship provides new thinking for fans' awareness, star role expectation supply, social interaction radiation range and identity construction; on the other hand, it brings more risks to the dissemination of mainstream values, the "soft binding" of the moral system, and the division and conflict of discourse. To strengthen the quality education of college students, purify the network media ecosystem, and give play to the role of stars as the "construction force", is a reliable way to enhance the positive functions of star worship and avoid its negative influence.

The Wanhsien Incident was an event where the British gunboat bombed Wanhsien County on September 5, 1926. The people of Wanhsien suffered the tragic loss of life and property due to the atrocities of the British Army, but they did not receive any apology or compensation. The British, on the other hand, believed that the purpose of its action was legitimate, which was to save the innocent vessels detained, punish the tyrannical Chinese army and protect the interests of the British people. The mentality and behavior of the British Navy before, during and after the Wanhsien Incident were all the results of its "Gunboat Policy". However, the surging movement of boycott against Britain from all over China after the incident also made Britain pay the price for its "Gunboat Diplomacy" and prompted a shift in Britain's policy towards China.

By combing 360 judgments on negligent crimes, it is found that the number of cases with civil compensation without probation is much lower than that with other circumstances without probation in terms of mitigating circumstances such as voluntary confession, confession and pleading guilty. Through the data comparison and case analysis of civil compensation and victim (family member) understanding in the application of probation for negligent crimes, we can know that the two have different effects on the application of probation. In practice, the courts overemphasize the existence of civil compensation, so there exist problems of simplifying the identification of probation application for negligent crimes. The orientation of civil compensation affecting the application of probation should be a formal exterior of the penitent psychology of the defendant, rather than the substantive connotation. The court cannot judge whether the offender repents only by whether the offender has compensated, but should examine the offender's compensation ability and performance afterwards, and comprehensively determine whether the offender repents and whether probation can be applied.

Although women's pain is rooted in the power patterns of patriarchal societies, female violence to other females is often concealed under male domination. Women who perpetrate violence to other females become strong defenders of patriarchal society, and to some extent, they also uphold and help reproduce patriarchy. Due to the decay of the social ecology, the alienation of the village administration, the change of the economic structure of the farming family, the high degree of feudalism, and the blockage of new ideas, the modern Huaibei countryside provided a context for the occurrence of violence against women. Whether it is the "intimate other" within the family, such as mother and daughter, mother-in-law and daughter-in-law, or sisters-in-law, or the "strange other" without any blood relationship, they may become the "violent other". The real liberation of women should not only focus on how to get women liberated from the male-dominated society, but also on how to get women out of the predicament of mutual violence, so as to further promote the liberation of women.

Music is in the human practice; the exploration of musical beauty depends on aesthetic practice, and musical aesthetic education is an important way to cultivate musical appreciation. Music aesthetic education in the new era is no longer mechanical music teaching based on "supervision"; individual students and social environment are inseparable from the function of music aesthetic education. With the reappearance of body philosophy and the second generation of cognitive science, the body has ushered in the light of "revival" from the gloom of "shielding". The music education in which embodied cognition enters from a brand-new perspective, endows music perception and emotional experience with a unique teaching mode featuring body and mind integration. In the music aesthetic education, we should explore the representation of embodied situation and emotion, construct the music aesthetic education with embodied cognition, and enable students to deepen the beauty of music through the body, experience the music in the situation, and become independent and complete people with physical and mental beauty.

Journal of Chaohu University    2022, 24 (5): 66-76.   DOI: 10.12152/j.issn.1672-2868.2022.05.008
Abstract325)      PDF(pc) (1090KB)(802)       Save
Information infrastructure connects various subjects in economic and social development, overcomes regional obstacles to a certain extent, and reduces the differences between urban and rural economic factors. With a 2005—2019 national sample of 260 prefecture-level cities and municipalities directly under the central government, the impact of information infrastructure on urban-rural income gap is investigated through bidirectional fixed effects model and the threshold model. The study found that: the impact of the information infrastructure scale on the income gap between urban and rural areas presents an "inverted U shape" nonlinear relationship—an increasing before declining trend. At present, most cities in China have crossed the inflection point and entered the stage of narrowing the income gap. There is a single threshold for information infrastructure, and double thresholds for economic development and education level; the impacts of information infrastructure in different threshold ranges on urban-rural income gap are different. The information infrastructure has different effects on the income level of urban and rural residents, showing a linear positive correlation for urban residents and a "U-shaped" nonlinear relationship for rural residents. The research results are basically sound, and targeted policy suggestions are put forward according to the conclusions.

The Land Estate Problem in Marx's Early Thoughts: From Critique of Hegel's Philosophy of Right to German Ideology
FENG De-chao
Journal of Chaohu University    2022, 24 (5): 39-48.   DOI: 10.12152/j.issn.1672-2868.2022.05.005
Abstract396)      PDF(pc) (813KB)(791)       Save
The land estate problem is an important theoretical clue to understand the development of Marx's early thoughts and the formation process of historical materialism. In Critique of Hegel's Philosophy of Law, Marx not only confirmed the reality that private property determines the state, but also exposed the feudal nature of Hegel's heredium by criticizing the heredium under Hegel's primogeniture. It started his thinking on land estate issues. In Economic and Philosophic Manuscripts of 1844, Marx further developed his understanding of the land estate problem. Based on the comparison of feudal land estate and capitalist land estate, he took capitalist land estate as an entry point, so as to improve his understanding of capitalist society from the superficial understanding in the first notebook to the essential knowledge in the second and third notebooks. In German Ideology, Marx no longer regarded land estate as an entry point for his understanding of the laws of social operation as before, but combined land estate with historical development. This is reflected in his expounding the dynamic role of land estate in the historical formation of capitalist society from the perspective of historical materialism and the contrast between urban and rural areas, thus scientifically answering the question of land estate. It was through the deepening of his understanding of real estate in his youth that Marx started his critique of bourgeois economists and theorists, and changed his theory from idealism to general materialism based on real history, and then constructed the historical materialism.

Current studies on the effect of L2 Motivational Self System(L2MSS) on college students' motivational behaviors are rare. A mixed qualitative and quantitative analysis with 162 college students from a mobile learning course called Youlinyouke was conducted to explore the influence of L2MSS on students' motivational behaviors and its difference from offline learning context. The results indicate that, on the one hand, the L2MSS in the mobile context has an effect on college students' motivational behaviors, with the L2 learning experience having a significant positive effect, the ideal L2 self having a moderate positive effect, and the ought-to L2 self having no effect; on the other hand, different from the effect in offline learning context, the function of learners' L2 ideal self on motivational behaviors is weakened but the effect of L2 learning experience is reinforced. A thorough grasp of the effect of the L2MSS of college students in the context of mobile learning has significant implications for promoting mobile English course design, mobile English teaching practice, and educational equality.

Under the new liberal arts concept, it is necessary to fully tap the internal curriculum resources of the major, mobilize external teaching methods, and integrate interdisciplinary methods to deepen the applied teaching reform. The applied teaching design of the curriculum should be reflected in many aspects: the design of teaching concept should show cultural confidence; the design of teaching methods should draw on others' advantages; the design of teaching content should highlight the social needs; and the design of teaching objectives should foster family and motherland feelings. In particular, attention should be paid to the excavation of ideological and political elements of teaching content, the integration of multiple disciplines and the multilevel application of teaching forms.

The results show that: From the country perspective, the country with the lowest investment risk is the Netherlands, and the highest is Nigeria. From the region perspective, the port investment risk in Europe is the lowest and that in Africa is the highest. From the time perspective, the port investment risk for most countries along the line shows a decreasing or stable trend, but the opposite is true for Australia and some countries in Western Asia. When Chinese enterprises invest in overseas ports in the future, they should reasonably select the investment area according to the risk level, and be alert to the threats and challenges brought by the epidemic to Chinese enterprises.

The different English versions of Wang Yue can meet the reading needs of different reader groups. Based on three English versions of Wang Yue, drawing on the Prototype-model Translation Theory, this paper introduces the translation concepts of "fitness" and "faithfulness" and readers' satisfaction, and reaches the following conclusions by using the research method of translation comparison: Xu Yuanchong's version can meet the reading needs of professional readers; Sun Dayu's version can meet the reading needs of non-professional adult readers; The version by Stephen Owen can meet the reading needs of non-professional children readers. Therefore, the article holds that only by using appropriate translation strategies to faithfully translate the writing features of the source text, and only by "adapting" to the reading needs of different reader groups, can different versions coexist because they fit the reading needs of different readers.

Shimaki Kensaku's The Quest for Life was written during the heated period of Japanese militarism, and is a masterpiece of "Tenko Literature". The theme of the novel is the exploration of how to reconstruct identity after one's renunciation of Marxism. It is a very special Bildungsroman in a reactionary era. The novel is about a young intellectual's journey to reconstruct his identity through social practice and personal cultivation in a political system where free will has been harshly destroyed. Shimaki's tenko writings are different from other tenko literature. Through providing an insight into the internal causes of political conversion, as well as a detailed and realistic portrayal of rural life, it subverts the discursive order of "Political Conversion = Defection", unites reason and emotion in a seemingly apolitical way.

There are two versions of the Yuan Zaju Emperor Gaozu of Han Dynasty Summoned Ying Bu While He Was Washing His Feet. From the perspective of stage performance style, the Yuan edition did not form a standard program in opening, ending and characters on and off the stage, while the Ming edition showed traces of artificial norms. The Ming edition had numerous exquisite divisions. In keeping the plot basically unchanged, the Ming edition had plenty of changes in detail, so that the two versions had different characteristics on stage. In terms of the cause of Sui He's mission, the Ming edition changed passivity to initiative, adding the character contradiction between Sui He and Liu Bang. At the end of the event, the Yuan edition highlighted the part of war reporting, while the Ming edition emphasized the part of rewarding. Such differences are not only due to the fact that Zaju performance changed easily on stage, but also reflects Zang Maoxun's personal will and the influence of the times. The Southern Opera also profoundly influenced the development of Zaju in Yuan Dynasty in terms of comical drama and role. The fundamental reason for the changes between the Yuan and Ming editions lies in two different views on drama, that is, the evolution from "centered on music" to "centered on drama".

Previous literature has demonstrated that the willingness to communicate(WTC) of second language(L2) learners is affected by a variety of factors, among which individual difference factors such as foreign language anxiety and classroom contextual factors such as teacher behavior have been the hot topic. This study aims to develop a hypothetical model to explore the correlations between L2 learners' WTC, foreign language anxiety and teacher immediacy. Questionnaire data was collected from 497 non-English-major college students in Anhui Province and processed in a hypothetical model through measurement and confirmation via AMOS 17.0. It was found that when the foreign language anxiety decreases or the immediate teacher behavior increases, learners' WTC, correspondingly, increases. However, teacher immediacy had no direct effect on foreign language anxiety, which means the immediate teacher behavior failed to alleviate learners' anxiety. This finding, to some degree, bridges the research gap by providing statistical testimony on the factors influencing WTC and sheds pedagogical insights for college English teaching.

Kan "看" is a complementizer that can lead a clause. It can be located in a sentence or at the end of a sentence. It is located at the end of a sentence because the clause it leads has no phonetic realization due to oral omission, but in the process of meaning interpretation, potential subsequent sentences can be added. This omission causes Kan to look like a tentative auxiliary on the surface, but it is still a complementizer. This difference is related to the stylistic environment used in the grammaticalization process of Kan, which gradually occurs in the process of oral use, and thus has the characteristic of ellipsis in the use of oral language. According to the different syntactic positions of Kan, the paper will try to find out the common features in the use of kan in different positions, and further demonstrate the usage of Kan as a complementizer.

The commemoration of national humiliation is a unique ceremony in modern China. Under the special background of China's poverty and weakness and repeated suffering from violations of its sovereignty, the commemoration reflects the people's anger and their desire for self-improvement. During the period of the Republic of China, national capitalist enterprises used the special ceremony of commemorating national humiliation to cater to the psychology of Chinese people, widely published domestic advertisements in newspapers and periodicals, publicized their products and brands, and formed a cultural phenomenon with both political and commercial nature. These advertisements, while bring profits to the enterprises, also had the function of achieving consensus and enhancing national identity, which could promote the recovery of economic rights and the development of political movements. At the same time, domestic products also improved quality and reduced prices, which benefited the consumers in the process.

Digital inclusive finance is an important external force to promote the sustainable development of small and medium-sized enterprises(SMEs). In order to explore the role of digital inclusive finance on the sustainable development of SMEs, based on the 2014—2020 financial data of SMEs in the Growth Enterprise Market(GEM), this paper uses the Peking University digital inclusive finance index and SA index, and adopts the fixed effect and intermediary effect model. It empirically analyzes the influence process and mechanism of digital inclusive finance on the sustainable development of SMEs, and conducts robustness test by replacing dependent and independent variables. Finally, it explores the differences in effect of digital inclusive finance on SMEs among industries and regions, and conducts heterogeneity analysis. The results show that: firstly, digital inclusive finance plays a significant role in promoting the sustainable development of SMEs, more than 50% of which have been indirectly affected through easing financing constraints; secondly, through the heterogeneity analysis, it is found that the development of digital inclusive finance plays a stronger role in promoting enterprises, Internet and computer industry in western China. This paper provides enlightenment for the formulation and implementation of digital financial inclusion policies.

Abstract302)      PDF(pc) (1212KB)(693)       Save
Psychological resilience is an important symbol of individual mental health, and it is also a kind of resilience that individuals show in the face of adversity. Psychological resilience provides an effective theoretical framework for studying tourists' coping with external risks. In the context of COVID -19, Fuzzy -set Qualitative Comparative Analysis(fsQCA) was used to explore the combined effect of factors influencing tourists' psychological resilience. The results show that: There are three types of patterns that lead to the decrease of the psychological resilience of tourists, which are "uncertainty—negative coping oriented", "personality trait conditioned" and "neuroticism—negative coping oriented". There are three types of patterns that promote the psychological resilience of tourists, which are "social support leading", "positive coping leading" and "external support—positive coping oriented", among which the combination of family support, social support and positive coping style is the optimal path. Based on the asymmetric causality theory, this paper explains the configuration effect of interdependence among conditions, which provides theoretical support for how to improve the psychological resilience of tourists during the epidemic.
