The Value, Goal and Path of Integrating Labor Education into Ideological and Political Teaching in Colleges and Universities in the New Era

Abstract: Labor education is an important part of the socialist educational system with Chinese characteristics. Labor education integrated into ideological and political courses in colleges and universities is of momentous value for cultivating college students' Marxist view of labor, and can help them practice the core values of socialism, improve the effectiveness of ideological and political education, and achieve the goal of moral education. The integration, based on mastering the essence of labor education and the content of the ideological and political courses in universities and the relationship between the two, should follow the principle of reasonable integration, so as to achieve the goal of collaboration between labor education and ideological and political education. To achieve proper integration of labor education into the teaching of ideological and political course, colleges and universities needs to work from three aspects: to stimulate the initiative of teachers and enhance the awareness of labor education; to innovate ideological and political teaching methods to stimulate students' labor enthusiasm; to strengthen the assessment and evaluation mechanism and enhance students' awareness of labor practice.
