Abstract: With the continuous development of the economy, the links between countries in the world are getting closer and clos- er. Countries are spreading their own unique cultures to the world through various forms to enhance their cultural soft power and international influence. Therefore, cultural exchanges are becoming more and more important. As a pivotal part of cultural exchange and cultural penetration, tourism is developing rapidly and playing an increasingly essential role in cultural external communication. Thus, translators need to think about and solve the problems concerning how to avoid mistranslation and ambi- guity in the translation process, how to let foreign tourists understand the connotation of various attractions when visiting places around China and how to introduce attractions to foreigners in a way that can be more conducive to their understanding and acceptance. This paper takes the ecological translation theory proposed by Professor Hu Gengshen as the theoretical support, focuses on the mistranslation and ambiguity in the translation of tourist attractions, and proposes some corresponding specific translation suggestions from the adaptation of language dimension, cultural dimension and communication dimension, in order to enlighten the translators on considering multiple factors and extending the life of translation.

Key words: ecological translation, tourism English translation, cultural connotation, communicative intention
