Abstract: The goal of transcendental deduction is to prove the objective validity of the category. However, with the gradual progress of the research, whether the transcendental deduction can achieve this goal has been debated in the academic circles. Some scholars believe that the objective validity of proving the category can only be truly achieved in analytic of principles. However, through the careful investigation of Kant's texts and the clarification of the misunderstanding of relevant concepts, we can find that it is unnecessary to worry about the failure of transcendental deduction to achieve its intended goal. The logic of transcendental deduction is self-contained, and it does not need the supplement of analytic of principles. The transcendental deduction itself can also achieve its own goal.

Key words: Kant, transcendental deduction, formal intuition, category of understanding
