Abstract: Since the CPC became the leading role in the political arena, whether in the base area during the democratic revolution or in the vast rural areas after the founding of New China, rural collective models have been widely established to guide rural governance, and abstract political pursuits have been embodied into typical rural microcosmic governance practices to demonstrate the necessity of rural governance under the new system. The rural collective model is not only a bright symbol of socialist ideology based on Chinese tradition and revolutionary experience, but also a rich and colorful story of contemporary Chinese rural governance in its historical evolution, forming a distinctive experience of contemporary Chinese rural governance. In these stories and experiences, we can observe the efforts made by rural collective models to achieve national intentions through village governance, or the courage to express their political loyalty to the country, or the specific demonstration of the rural integration approach that meets the national requirements, or the lead of the rural institutional change with advanced innovation.

Key words: rural governance, rural collective models, political loyalty, political integration, institutional innovation
