1919 年4 月30 日，杜威博士应邀来华，游历多地，持续两年有余。他对中国教育和东方文明产生了重要的影响，留下浓重的印记。通过梳理杜威博士访华的已有研究成果发现，路线是以往研究的罅漏，存在沿线地点可能不全、路线顺序可能不当等问题。为了补苴罅漏，本研究勾勒出杜威博士去过的12 省1 市；基于以往成果，特别选择路线中较少提到的奉、鄂、赣、闽四省，详细考察他的活动和思想。时值杜威来华百年，仅以此项粗浅的梳理向杜威博士致敬。
On April 30, 1919, Dr. Dewey was invited to visit and speak in China. He stayed in China for more than two years. Through his travels and speeches, he was deeply impressed by the land of China and Eastern civilization.After reviewing Dr. Dewey's researches in China, we find that the route was the defect of previous studies. On the one hand, the provinces through which Dr. Dewey traveled were not complete; on the other hand, the order of his trip was not appropriate. In order to remedy the shortcomings of previous researches, this study not only clarified the 12 provinces and Beijing visited by Dr. Dewey, but also supplemented some historical information accordingly.
