Grounded in the theory of collective memory, this paper employs methods such as literature review and
logical analysis to dissect the elements of the collective memory associated with the spirit of red sports. It elucidates
the coupling relationship between the spirit of red sports and the sense of community of the Chinese nation, and
subsequently proposes practical approaches to reinforcing this sense of community through the spirit of red sports.
The study posits that the collective memory of the red sports spirit is manifested in three dimensions: symbolic
memory, characterized by external expressions and symbolic markers; episodic memory, conveyed through detailed
narratives and realistic extensions; and value memory, derived from cultural accumulation and core extraction. The
relationship between the red sports spirit and the sense of community of the Chinese nation is dynamic, coupled,
and symbiotic, marked by homogeneity in connotation, shared cultural origins, aligned practical directions, and unified values. To promote the reinforcement of the sense of community of the Chinese nation through the spirit of red
sports, three pathways are proposed: awakening symbolic memory to activate the cognition of the Chinese national
community, reviving episodic memory to solidify the emotions of the Chinese national community, and internalizing
value memory to shape the identity of the Chinese national community.
