Abstract: To improve the safety management capabilities of laboratory in colleges, based on the research about laboratory safety in colleges, the main sources of risk in university laboratories were analyzed under the background of new engineering. The principles of risk control were summarized, and countermeasures were proposed. Results show that both new engineering and laboratory safety in colleges have become research focuses nowadays. The experimental technology and personnel awareness were the main source of the other risks. The increase of environmental risk factors in the laboratories always result in the increase of risk. Commonly, the risk awareness would gradually weaken over time. There are many tools for laboratory risk identification, assessment and control. we should select appropriate tools for different laboratory risk situations. So, the colleges should keep up with the times choose suitable measures and collaborate with each other to manage laboratory risk.
