在大学生成长教育的视阈中，重大公共卫生事件本身具有特殊的思想教育、政治教育、道德教育等价值内涵。重大公共卫生事件在教育理念、教育内容和教育情境等方面的“缺场”，可能会在一定程度上影响着大学生成长教育的实践效果。因此，高校需要进一步树立“事件就是教科书”的教育理念、建构“五位一体”的教育内容体系、创新“情理交融、悟情促行、知行并进”的教育方法，以更好地满足开辟教育新路、培育时代新人之现实需求。
